I was passing the Wanganui Library yesterday, so I thought I’d see if they had my requested holiday reading – ‘Bad Luck and Trouble’ by Lee Child. I’ve read all his Jack Reacher books and always know when there is a new one coming out (love the Internet!) … so I can beat everyone else. Just to keep some balance I looked for ‘A Whole New Mind’ by Daniel Pink. The first book had not arrived, but the second was on the shelf. It was new non-fiction last December and I think I’m the first to get it out! Hmmm. However keynote speakers have recommended it and the blurb on the back cober sounds great. While I was there I spotted ‘Blog Wild!’ by Andy Wibbels. Ok, it is ‘A guide for small business blogging’, but it filled in some gaps I had in my blogging knowledge. And did you know that BlogAds conducts an annual survey of thousands of blog readers, comparing their habits to the general online audience? The results show that blog readers:

  • are older, with more than half over the age of 30
  • have money to burn. 75% make more than $US45,000 per year
  • shop online. They are Web-savvy and not fazed by online transactions
  • have passion and initiative. Blog readers actively seek out the latest and greatest information and products available online.

I think I’m also the first person to get this book out. So maybe I can find a way to use these 2 books to my advantage somehow!

Let me know what you think of Pink’s book. And I will go check out Blog Wild and give you my thoughts.
